I haven't gotten a chance to be excited yet. You know us backwards folks down south. You have to show up, show an ID they check you off the register you go make your vote and you put it in the machine. Maybe someday we'll keep up with all the enlightened folks.

not that much different here. everything gets verified first, id and signature, then a ballot is mailed to you. You fill it out seal it in an envelope, sign the envelope and drop it in secure lock box (ours is at the police station). They then match your signature on the envelope with the one on file. If the signatures match your vote gets counted and you get notified. if they don't match they notify you of that and you have to vote in person.

I cast my vote for Phillbo today on my way home from a gun show...Write in votes are simple on the machine as long as you know how to spell...And didn't the VP choices used to be on the ballot?...It was just the 4 or 5 announced candidates for Prez on my ballot......Ben

Hard part about signature is they match that to your drivers license which in AZ after the first one it good until your 65. Imagine the differences over the years. And for some of the kids that never learned cursive.

At one point election officials decided my sig wasn't a sig. Had to sign it a few times right in front of them - which worked.

Prison staff called my sig "The Schwing." I'd describe it as a check mark with a curved line trailing to the right (like Nike's logo). As Fred noted, it's replicated on my DMV license (which I often have to show cause my sig isn't legible and has no alphanumeric characters). DMV initially rejected it until, once again, I performed a demo of it.
