    Did not read the article buy I guess the market for real overlander vehicles does not exist like the one for Toyota Tacoma add on parts. They are everywhere around here...

    Yeah, just not an all-around practical vehicle. My family was into the whole camper thing - whereas I preferred traveling with a pup tent & a cooler, which stowed in the back of the Jeep/bike (and were cheap to buy and utilize).

    One can buy one of several good 4x4 pickup trucks, put on a shell, install a mattress, and economically travel our nation on or off-road. But, we're all different. Wifey wouldn't do it. I would. After being on bikes for decades, I was into camping minimalism, where you take it all in and take it all out. No stove, toilet, or TV. Just being out in the middle of nowhere alone.
