4 years is nowhere near enough time. I knew Kristi Finstad from when she was born. I worked for her father at Scubaventures in Santa Cruz as an Assistant Dive instructor and I led many trips on the Truth Aquatics boats including the one that burned that night both as trip leader nd Dive Master in the mid 80s. She was leading the dive trip on the boat that burned "If" the Captain has done in damn job she and the other 32 people below decks would not have burned to death

I recall the reports of the fire from the news, but very little else...I'm reminded of the events surrounding the murder of Holly Maddux, and the resulting investigation, escape, capture, imprisonment and death of Ira Einhorn...Our personal losses are similar in both cases, Eric, and our wishes for different outcomes of the criminal proceedings are likely identical for both...All we'll ever be able to do is accept what happened, and grieve for the losses......Ben
