Sailed in once past the Statue Of Liberty. Didn't expect to feel proud - but did. It was a perfect entry back into the USA.

I could see the Statue of Liberty as I crossed the Newark Bay Bridge on I-78---just south of the crossing---I made it a point to look her way and say a silent good morning
I have to confess to being sentimental about things symbolic of our much loved country.
We signed up for a day trip to Normandy last night---I got misty eyed just thinking about it---I'll need to have a towel with me
My wife (who has been there) said she was very surprised that I would do that---my response was that I "owed" that to all who took part in that terrible sacrifice.
All gave some----thousands gave all
