You don’t need a parachute to go skydiving. You need a parachute to go skydiving twice.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

    Goober: Silly, foolish or old.

I've been called worse, though I have been all of those things concurrently.

So, what's new Goobers? It's been a while.

Catch up on the changes in my life:

    - I retired a while back and bought a plot of land in Hilo. It came with a small out building about the size of a studio apartment. Plan was to build a home and stay in the out building ( I call it the dog house) while under construction... The plan was coming along fine and the house was in the framing stage when I discovered 2 things that changed my direction. 1- I'd go crazy living on an island with a 6 hour flight to escape it. 2- the Hawaiian people are assholes ( they hate mainlanders and show it once you try to blend in). Contractors and city officials make life difficult for Haoles trying to settle on the island. They try to play it off as "Island Time" but in reality they just delay your project until the permit expires and you have to run it through the building commission AGAIN with required changes being mandated.

So I put the plans to the house out on the market and sold it as a spec home in Dec. Yes, I have a bad taste in my mouth from that adventure but did ok on exit.

    - Still have the place in Scottsdale and Nurse Paula keeps me around. Just finished a kitchen and master bath remodel so the plan now is to travel a bit. Norway is first next month.

    - I bought into a part ownership of a speed shop in Bullhead City Az that specializes in building SCORE off road trucks. The owner is a friend and he admits the shop could use some new blood. His crew needs some motivation so other than the shop foreman (good guy with his mind in the right place) I'll be replacing the mechanics soon with a crew I know out of Laughlin (their team is losing sponsorship and was going to be broken up).
If you have never strapped on a trophy truck, it's better than viagra (for those of you that need it... You know who you are

    - I had a mild stroke while 40 miles up in the canyons of Maui on my dirt bike. That was an adventure but no serious lasting damage and should be fine ( yeah,I know that's going to feed jabs in the long run.

If still welcomed I plan to stop in a bit. Being an election year I need to milk my campaign funds for all I can and learn the new school yard names for all the candidates...

    Life is good. You?

    Somebody blabbed......

As for campaign funds, you may apply for a draw just as soon as expenses and management fees are withdrawn...And don't forget the cash-only application fee with your properly filled out and notarized application form......Ben

I know a lucky man when I see one.

Wifey and I almost bought property in Pahoa. Ironically, it was overrun by lava. God's will? No, a nice coincidence (unless one lived in Pahoa).

My Sister, who lives in Scottsdale, wouldn't choose anywhere else to be. Wifey goes down to see her every Winter (cause no way she'd go down in Summer).

Good to see you here, Bo. Thank you for the update.

A wise choice indeed, especially for long term investments...By which I refer to after any statutes of limitations expire......Ben

    S&P, S&W, it's all the same

BTW Ben, I just updated my arsenal with an 870 pump and a Ruger Security 9 pistol.

I just bought a travel trailer and nurse Paula really wanted me to have a shot gun to carry when we use it.

There's no way to go wrong with a Remington 870 (I'm assuming 12 gauge with your intended purpose)...It's the only shotgun I own, mine has rifle sights and a 6 round magazine with 2.75" )) buck inside...Open choke on an 18" barrel...I bought it used with a spare 26" Remchoke barrel...I had to look up the Ruger, I have no knowledge of it other than Ruger quality has always been good, and they stand behind their guarantee......Ben
