That would be the commander and chief.
Has the military adopted the latest grade school ethos of “everybody gets a gold star and games have no score?”
Good on Trump for spoiling their party.
From what I have read, the citations for the medals were greatly exaggerated, and the medals were undeserved.

Task and Purpose
First I have heard that the Commander-in-Chief cannot countermand issuance of medals and awards. Do you have anything on that?
The answer to that would be a big NO. The Presidents orders are already being executed as they should be in a proper military. This post is such a classic example of how far the folks with Trump derangement syndrome are willing to scrape around for tid bits to attack him.
Things just got worse for those involved in the prosecution.

The Navy has dismissed charges against Navy Seal Edward Gallagher’s platoon leader and ordered a review of its justice system.Lt. Jacob Portier was charged with covering up war crimes in connection with the Gallagher prosecution and faced trial in September.
“Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson today dismissed all charges in the case of Lt. Jacob Portier,” a Navy statement said Thursday, according to the San Diego News-Tribune. “Richardson took this action in the best interest of justice and the Navy.”
Richardson also ordered a review of the Navy’s Judge Advocate General Corps, which prosecuted Gallagher and Portier.
“Recent events indicate a need to review the leadership and performance of the (JAG) Corps,” Richardson said in a memo, according to the paper.
Thanks for the update. This the relentless cycle we are in with the mainstream media, they accuse and berate the President and in the end many if not most times it turns out he was right. There is no way that the President made an arbitrary decision to pull those awards without someone in power putting a big bug in his ear. Now with the above revelation it appears there may be corruption in the process.
