I believe I saw where InstapotŠ️ added a sous vide feature to one of their pots.

I finally got around to taking the first test run of the instant pot. My wife has been doing the shopping---not a good idea but one does have to be flexible:rolleyes: Anyway, she came home with a London Broil :uhuh:
So---Sunday evening, with few options because of a raging snow storm---I took a leap of hope
I browned the meat in the instant pot, then poured in red wine (left over from a party Saturday night), tossed in a few stalks of chopped celery, a couple of onions, a hand-full of cheery tomatoes, about five cloves of garlic, bay leaves, coriander, oregano, rosemary, Worcester sauce and fresh ground pepper.
I set it to high pressure and 35 minutes---and left it drop to zero pressure on its own.
I can't give me accolades---but it was tasty for a such a cut of meat---and tolerably chewy but not falling apart done.
I need to get back to doing the shopping---I want to try beef ribs and oxtail--just to mention a few.
I did like the convenience of it. I could put it together in short order, turn it on and forget it. I made the salad and then sat down to watch 20/20 without interruption while dinner cooked itself:cool:
I did oxtail this past weekend---not wonderful. I cooked them for 45 min at high pressure and they were "done" but not falling off the bone done. Since it was Sunday evening there was no opportunity for putting the lid back on and going for another round. I will do that when I do the leftovers.
Other than the chewy challenge the flavor was excellent. I'd give you the recipe---but I just made it up as I went through the refrigerator. Some of the parade, leaks, shiitake mushrooms, scallions, celery, carrots, whole peeled tomatoes (smashed as I added them), fish sauce, a couple of dried cayenne (whole), cilantro, sage, thyme, basil, and parsnips.
One down side to this is an inability to check if the food is done without dropping the pressure and possibly starting a new cycle
I am surprised 45 minutes did not do the trick.
Is that your fist try with the Instapot?
