It appears the Porshe loses grip and slides before impact. And, excessive speed seems to be involved. During regular driving/walking hours, someone easily could have died.

This reminds me of an unfortunate accident I came upon one Sunday morning. I was working in Santa Monica at the time and came upon this in Beverly Hills. At the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica Blvd, which is a strange kind of intersection, sat 4 or 5 cars, all with substantial damage----and all of very high priced lineage. Apparently they had pursued the path of a Mexican standoff at the intersection---and all lost.
I few minutes latter I began to chuckle and the fellow with me asked what I was laughing at: my response, imagine if all those cars are all insured by the same company---now that would be a bad day :bleh::nono:
Thinking more on this subject, it reminds me a bit of the crash that took Paul Walker from us at age 40 in 2013. The roads were just as fine and weather was not a factor. The case against Porsche failed but it's assumed other settlements outside of court were made with his family members. Police estimate the Porsche was going 80+ in a 45 MPH zone. For those not familiar with Paul Walker, he was raised in an LDS household.
Yeah, I had a car that could do 193 MPH tops (AMG GT), but did I drive it fast or race it? Nope. I admit I did consider taking it out to the Salt Flats near Wendover during Speed Week - but I changed my mind after talking to my wife about it. Frankly, she was not impressed. And, as usual, she was right.
One night getting on the freeway I decided to punch the car to see what it would do. For, I was going up the freeway onramp and no one else was near. It surprised and pleased me that the car spun the rear tires when the 2 turbos kicked in. But, then reality set in and I cooled it.
For those of you considering doing some high-speed heroics, keep in mind one of the things police considered a factor in Paul's death was the age of the tires. As soon as they come out of the factory, tires start to lose effectiveness as they age. Now, mostly this would not matter unless you are dancing on the edge, but at high speeds it matters greatly. Every part of the car has to operating at top capacity or disaster can result. And, sadly, even if your ducks are in a row, you can still make a mistake, or think you are immortal, and die.

Some of those circumstances are reminiscent of the death of James Dean...In that instance his friend Bill Hickman, who later gained fame as a movie stunt driver (he drove the Charger in Bullitt), arrived on the scene within seconds and pulled Dean from the wreckage...All it takes is one low-performance moment behind the wheel of a high-performance vehicle...:crash:...BenQuote:

Yep, JD with the famous Porsche wreck comes to mind as well. If I recall, a car pulled out in front of him - plus he was speeding.
TG, that guy may not have lived if in another make of car. But, we'll never know. It amazing how many things can go wrong at high speeds. That Audii is dead.

The Porsche Walker was killed in, a GT3, is infamously difficult to drive in critical situations - really twitchy, it is said with rear weight bias, and I’m guessing sudden turbo boost. The car in the original post is a hopped up version of a GT3, so judge from that.
Look closely---I suspect he lost traction (and control) when he got on the cross walk painting----it is a very thick and smooth paint. If wet,they can be akin to ice.
