Damn! Now I have to watch the film.
I found it on Netflix.
I'd never heard of it either...Maybe I can find a DVD at a pawn shop...I was always interested in Frank Hamer because we shared a liking for the .38 Super...Maybe I'll get lucky and find one at the gun show today...:arr:...Ben
I worked with a guy in the '80s who carried a 1911 .38 super as a duty weapon.
I've had a few...I also built a 1911 in .357 Sig on a 10MM slide (same boltface) and McCormick frame...I had a devil of a time making it feed properly until I chanced on trying a 9MM magazine that was spaced from the rear...After that it was flawless...Another one I regret selling, but divorce can force a lot of decisions we come to mourn...:wah:...Ben
My first duty weapon was a Chief's Special. What were you guys first carry.
S&W model 19. The best shooting handgun I've ever owned.
I guess I've turned mercenary again...I said previously I wouldn't go near Waco again, and yet when I woke up this morning I decided to go to the small show in Riesel...I didn't have to put up with Waco traffic, but it was still a 275 mile round trip...And it was worthwhile, I scored two extremely nice S&W Model 14-3's, one a single-action only in the original box with all accessories and papers...:win:...Ben
I watched the film tonight. I think it was a waste of time.
I saw the car Hamer killed them in at the state fair in Dallas some time around 1968. It was shot all to hell.
At last report it was parked inside a casino in Primm Nevada...:arr:...Ben
