Went to donate blood and tested positive for the antibodies.
I'm not sure when I caught it or really suffering from it but there was a period of time about 6 weeks ago where I felt a bit of fatigue and shortness of breath for a few days but I chalked it up to the excessive number of extremely hot days and lack of rain.
The strange thing is Nurse Paula does not have the antibodies.
Going forward I'll be donating "Convalescent Plasma" on a regular basis.....
When Hep C broke loose in the early 90's and after a diagnosis of chronic active hep C and dead with-in 3 years I developed the antibodies but was never really sick, I never missed any work anyway. But I started giving blood so that they could do whatever it is they do. I don't think I was giving plasma. What is the difference? Plasma they run your blood through a machine and pump it right back in? Is that right?

I've made an appointment with my cardiologist to get a stress test on the recommendation of my primary care physician who I am seeing on Tues for a check up and some lung x-rays...
Mike I believe you are correct on how they extract the plasma. Still waiting on the final results of some additional testing they do to make sure you are a plasma candidate.
They've been telling me for 35 years they don't want my blood because I'm too sweet...:flower:...Ben

Update. Second test came back positive as well... Lung x-rays look normal and cardio stress test did not turn up anything different than the last one 8 years ago...... Doc recommended a colonoscopy as well but(t) I don't think that is due to the Vid....
Best thing that could happen to you, as it stands now. Rejoice. They will still demand you mask and distance.
They told me to stay away from unprotected sex with my wife and not to have any kids. My wife said if your going to be dead in three years we are having kids, we had two both of them fine my wife never tested positive for the antibodies or the virus and I'm still alive after thirty years and a couple of other suppose to die events.Quote:

I have no problem wearing a mask.. I have a feeling it will become habit and help in the long run.

Get a cloth mask, I found one at a mom & pop taylor shop for less than $10.00.. it fits.. it doesn’t fog my glasses.. has made a world of difference wearing a mask.. (masks are the law here, can’t enter a store without one..).. and.. you don’t have to worry about bad breath with a mask on..
It hangs on the radio knob of the truck, always there..
Bo.. our Phoenix cousin came down with the virus.. bad headaches, weak, disoriented.. she was Uber sick.. she is “better” now, still tires quickly and easy to get her “head spinning”... you truly lucked out by not getting very sick..
I've seen the kind you mean, but I get freebies from the doctor...I don't need to spend the extra dough right now...As long as I stay in Montgomery County, rules are more relaxed...I just don't worry much since I've been handling nasty precious metal everyday all year with no mask nor gloves, and I have yet to see the first symptom even though I'm 73 with pre-existing medical issues...I'm not saying I'm immune, but I think if I was susceptible, it would show by now...:2cents:..BenQuote:

But people leave me alone, stay away from me.. so.. if they will keep staying away and leave me alone, I’ll wear a mask!
You know that cloth masks have zero efficacy in preventing transmission of viruses either in or out, right?
They do seem to keep the Karen’s at bey though and might keep you from getting sucker punched.

I use the real-deal 3M N95 masks I bought before Covid was even a thing.
i was at a trade show (Association of US Army) and acquired a great N-95 from 3M.. had to go down to the garage to get it.. used it for mowing..
Anyway.. the mask has an "exhaust valve " on it so it can't be used.. I got my cloth mask from a local taylor shop when all of the stores were sold out..
Hey.. it works.. I can wear it for an hour or two when needed..
Also have a bottle of hand sanatizer in the car.. haven't caught it.. several buddies have caught it so I must be doing something right (I'm not known for being lucky)
