You guys can keep em!
3 in the county where we have residence and none where the cottage is and no more than one in any of the surrounding counties.
Looking at that map in total---the NE is relatively clean. The heartland---not so much :dunno:
It's apparently a huge business here...Those 18 in my county are likely all in the east side where the piney woods begin...The Precinct 4 Constable makes continual headlines with the drug busts that come from his deputies...Our county sheriff, the feds and Texas DPS have a big stake here too...An old friend who retired from the drug enforcement arm of DPS used to visit my store...He really looked the part except he didn't have the accompanying meth head smell...He once brought in a partner of his after a big drug sting who looked so much the part of a drug dealer, I told him even I was tempted to buy drugs from him...He looked like a montage of every drug criminal I've ever seen on reruns of Cops...:smokin:...Ben
Thats a cool map but its 6 years old. Im the same color as long island :dunno: Im not buying it. Maybe a per capita approach suits me better:dunce:
Albuquerque is only light blue. Poor pinkman. :o:
Early on in my law enforcement career I made a traffic stop and found the vehicle to be transporting a meth lab. The district attorney's office refused to take charges because the vehicle was a rental and the occupants might not have known the equipment was in the vehicle. Come on! It was a four door sedan and packed to the top with glassware and chemicals.
Anyony know the color of the counties where Sacklers labs are?
You are correct, Curt...This undated chart from the DEA may be of more help...You can filter it by state...It also shows addresses and dates of infraction...:cop:...Ben
And very disheartening.
The good news is even though I couldn't charge them with manufacturing, I arrested them anyway for possession of a controlled substance although not enough to get a distributing charge and possession of drug paraphernalia (a minor charge). All of their glassware and chemicals were seized as contraband and later destroyed.
If anybody thinks the ones they know about is the full tally, they have more confidence in the investigators than do I.
Maybe this bust will be more fruitful...Maybe these geniuses will put some more profit into their transportation next time so they won't have to depend on Officer Friendly stopping to render assistance...:cop:...BenQuote:
The deputy said while he was helping the driver with his vehicle, a bag containing 3.25 grams of methamphetamine fell out of his pocket...According to deputy constables, both Perez and Gonzalez had 4.38 grams of methamphetamine with them.
