There are different and varying degrees of her "disease" There was a blind kid with full-blown autism that won Americas got talent last week singing and playing the piano, and he was very very good. He couldn't thank anyone very well and he couldn't carry on a conversation but he could sure play that piano and sing. I've not read a word of anything this girl has said but I'm pretty sure she was picked for the job simply because of her condition. She could however shame us all on certain topics we'll never know. I agree with whoever said she was picked so that who ever disagreed with her could be shamed.

Greta and her entourage made a great production out of traveling to New York from Europe to deliver her diatribe in a sailboat rather than a jet for obvious reasons. What was not so obvious to the casual greenie devote’ of this nonsense was that the “boat” was actually a big plastic, very expensive, racing yacht that took untold amounts of energy to pull the raw materials from the ground and mold into her exhibit of her phony rectitude. No word if she swims back to be one with nature.
Young Thunberg has done a great disservice to her fellow youthful followers in convincing many - perhaps a majority - that the Earth is in imminent danger of ecological disaster, when a wide array of facts show just the opposite.
A reading of the full article will address with more specifics on each category of misplaced fear with real facts and studies.Quote:
... According to an article in Time magazine, Thunberg “cited more than 30 years of scientific evidence showing the consequences of a perpetually warming globe.” That is a misleading description of her words. In reality, she merely claimed this was so without presenting any scientific evidence to support it.
To the contrary, a wide array of environmental and human welfare indicators related to climate change have stayed level or improved for the past 30 years. This includes measurable outcomes of plants, forests, extinctions, agriculture, flooding, rainfall, hurricanes, and human health. This is true “crystal-clear” science, and it is at odds with Thunberg’s beliefs...

And just when I had forgotten all about her.......................................
I suppose you missed the part where surveys show up to 51% of millennials actually believe life as we know it will radically change because of the anthropogenically alter climate in 10-15 years and presumably alter their life plans in anticipation. If anywhere near correct, that is not an inconsiderable number. But then, I’m guessing you did not read the article.
Just because we know this nitwit is full of it does not mean a bunch of people do not.
There are extremists on both sides of this, as you know, but only one has science on their side :rolleyes2:
Of course.

"The new science fossil fuel companies fear
Researchers can now link weather events to emissions – and to the companies responsible. A string of lawsuits is about to give “attribution science” a real-life test".
There is no way this ends well. They even managed to blame the lawyers.:geezer:
From your link:
Very interesting---they made it work for tobacco and they have a good start on opioids---so why not :hatoff:Quote:
If blame can be attributed to corporations or governments, they believe, it can have two powerful effects: create a strong incentive for those companies to once and for all move away from fossil fuels, and unleash — through lawsuits — financial resources that could be used to seed new technologies and better prepare communities for the calamities climate change is expected to bring.
Attribution science is now about to receive a very real test in the courts, as cities, states and ordinary citizens across the world are using it to try to send fossil fuel companies the bill for climate change damage.
Tobacco is altogether worthless and deadly; opioids are dangerous at the same time they are immensely beneficial; fossil fuels are the backbone of modernity and the most useful chemicals in human history. Even fools can test the balances here, one would think, but then obviously not because the fools are lining up to try to deprive us from irreplaceable at this time fossil fuels in favor of scarce, expensive and unreliable “renewables.”
The alarming part is that juries are notoriously subject to arguments based in spurious reasoning especially in certain venues.
