I guess, like the guy said...dump the load in the middle of a wide highway. Was there one close? A panicked garbage truck driver is probably going to make the wrong decision most of the time. Wacojoe probably would too. Depending on the location, there might not have been a right decision.
The worst thing, and not mentioned prominently, is that there was at least one death and others burned.

Stuff happens and California streets are full of it.
