Trump is making it easier for the experts to develop med's than in the past.
I’ve seen several of these announcements in the last few days about different groups after the same goal. Perhaps the strangest source is the RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. announcing their effort derived from growing coronavirus antibodies in selected tobacco plants. The story they tell is that, curiously, the tobacco plant is unusually adept at replicating antibodies transplanted in it, which can in turn be refined, harvested and injected in humans. Their scientists took the DNA code supplied by the Chinese scientists and derived an antibody from that, which they are now growing in their plants. They are looking for partners now to conduct the necessary field tests on human test subjects before releasing it. The trick is producing an antibody that will disrupt the generation of the specific virus without making the host’s eyeballs pop out or some other evil consequence. It takes time to test the effects. The beauty of their process is that if a safe efficacy can be established (this will take months), then the growing process is easy and very productive to hear them tell it.
There are a few others being written about also, but the caution is that each take months to test before releasing into the public. You might recall that the vaccine released untimely for the Avian Flu (I think) killed more people than the flu did.
