I saw that earlier and sent it to my wife since she had just been there. It is one of the most beautiful churches that I have ever seen. The stained glass is remarkable.
A great loss to history.
The original Hunchback of Notre Dame movie was one of my childhood favorites.
Surely that had some of the antiquities stored in the building in something to protect them in the event of fire.
Yes - a sad event to see. The cathedral really is something to behold. It's so over-the-top grand and beautiful.

Since our board is not an official news source I will say that I am picking up some reports from sources that I do not feel comfortable posting here because I cannot vouch totally for their credibility that there apparently has been several other acts of violence recently against Catholic facilities inside of France. I guess I'll let each to his own to figure out the veracity of those reports. If there's any truth to it it'll all come out
