What Sleepy Joe failed to notice was the fact that CHL holders in Texas were already permitted to carry our firearms in places of worship, and have been for many years...The new law merely clarified that...The church in Willis where I infrequently attend is notable for the many jacket bulges and seemingly heavy purses in the congregation...:please:...Ben
Im impressed with how the good guy shooter handled things. Sure looked like a guy who could handle a pistol. They mighta coulda got the bad guy a second sooner but under the cirmstances I give the good guy a 9.875.
I note the bad guy weapon isn't a traditional assault weapon.
By contrast, the targeted group in the latest attack on Jews in a Rabbi’s house and then in a Jewish Temple in New York, as the perp moved quickly there, of the hundred or so in the house and those in the Temple apparently there were no defensive guns despite the awful knowledge their congregations are well-known targets of haters. Gun Free Zones are easy and appealing targets for determined zealots who are not gun free. Even idiots ought to recognize this obvious fact.
Waiting for rationalizations to flow from anti second amendment types including Slo-Joe, what the article bellow terms “invincible ignorance.”
Here is an article which expands on the issue better than I can do —

This article describes the man who shot the murderous intruder, but does not mention any FBI affiliation —
Apparently there were at least six armed members of the congregation at the time in this Texas church. Pulling a gun in a Texas crowd is an invitation to get your ass shot from several directions. I am still trying to understand why there was no such response in the El Paso slaughter. Are WalMarts “Safe Zones?”Quote:
... Jack Wilson, 71, shot and killed a gunman who opened fire in West Freeway Church of Christ in Tarrant County, near Fort Worth, Texas. Wilson was on duty as the volunteer security officer at the time of the shooting. He drew his weapon and killed the assailant within seconds.
Wilson’s aim wasn’t surprising, given his background. He was president of On Target Firearms Training Academy until 2016, worked as a deputy sheriff, and is currently running to be a county commissioner for the third precinct...

The only reason I ever go into a WalMart is to pick up my prescriptions, and that only because they have my insulin at $25 a bottle as opposed to $125 everywhere else...I have not seen any 30.06 nor 30.07 signage at the entrances...As usual I'm armed when I go there...:wary:...Ben
To the best of my [ limited ] knowledge, here in the GREAT STATE of Louisiana, wally world "requests " that you do not carry . It is not a gun free zone.

Walmart here, and I think it is a cooperate policy, merely "requests" no open carry of any kind of firearm.
Attended a wedding two years ago at the Park Avenue Synagogue (85th & Madison NYC) .. they had security guards and metal detectors.. being guests we went through the metal detectors..
On a separate note.. wowzers, what a party! Also what a beautiful 100 year old, stone, walnut and stained glass sanctuary.. definitely “old money”
